Geological Survey

It is important to ascertain as much information as possible about the geology of a site when considering a Water Well. This can normally be found by reference to a BGS (British Geological Survey) Prognosis. The report will initially determine the viability, stratum and hydrogeological formations and if any are likely to contain water, the chemical composition, is suitable for potable or does it contain unwarranted hardness or sulphates and an indication of the depth most likely to find a suitable supply.

We would like to point out that, although a Geological Prognosis highlights potential problems and Environmental considerations, it does not guarantee success.

The current cost of a BGS Prognosis is £535 plus vat for small yield extractions and £655 plus vat for that of large yield. For more information in obtaining a report, visit the GeoReports page of the BGS website via the following link or contact your nearest office.
