If you are contemplating building a new dwelling, especially in remote locations, obtaining a mains supply may be both difficult and expensive. In some cases a sustainable water supply must be established before planning consent is issued.
People living in secluded dwellings may have original supplies from a spring or hand dug well, both of which may fall short of current Drinking Water Regulations.
You are dissatisfied with escalating charges typically associated with Privatised Water Authorities and the obligatory chemical treatment of conventional mains water.
Some of the benefits of a private supply are;
A dependable, long term, chemical free water supply at your disposal at the turn of a tap.
Payback on the cost of installation is directly proportionate to water usage. Quite simply, the more you use, the more you save. For some high volume users this may be as little as 36 months.
With no requirement for water meters, all you pay for is the electricity to the pump.
In addition to increasing your standard of living a Water Well can also add value to your property.
You do not need Planning Permission or an Abstraction License. The maximum permitted abstraction without registration is 10,000 litres on any given day. Considering on average we consume approximately 160 litres per day per person, few homes would ever exceed this level.
Whether you require a supply for Potable water, irrigating gardens or washing vehicles, we have the specialist knowledge and flexibility to provide chemical free reliable water supplies, in some cases without the need for further filtration or treatment. We offer a comprehensive service from the initial site visit to final installation and commissioning. The quality of the material we use and our skill in the installation makes for a sound, long-term investment.
It’s a common fact that due to the current economic climate more businesses are feeling the pinch of rising costs in overheads consuming their monthly budgets.
Isn’t it therefore ironic, we are potentially sitting upon a source which, if developed, provides an ideal opportunity to take control of spending and recoup some funds.
By installing a Private Water Supply as an alternative to rising costs from Privatised Water Authorities for a mains supply you can do just that.
For over two decades we have been utilizing our skills and knowledge to develop Water Wells individually designed to the requirements of clients such as; Amenity Companies, Bottling Plants, Distilleries, Commercial Outlets, Hospitals, Golf Courses, Race Courses and Hotels, all of whom have made considerable savings.
The level of payback is directly proportionate to water usage, with some clients recovering costs in as little as six months in larger projects and up to thirty months for smaller projects.
Whether you require; Abstraction Wells, Monitoring Wells, Pump Installations or removal, Yield Analysis, Filtration equipment or Water storage solutions we have the resources to meet you requirements. The high quality of our materials which are WRAS and DWI approved enhances productivity and longevity of our wells.
Our cutting edge is our onsite fabrication facility, providing bespoke head works for specialized projects.
We offer advice during design and product development and construction of innovative and cost effective solutions to meet your requirements.
Our turnkey approach ensures all works are undertaken in-house by our highly competent staff, enabling delivery of contracts on time and on budget.
The success of our approach is illustrated by our association with prestigious clients and the contracts worked on.
As the water is used for commercial gain it would be necessary to obtain an Abstraction License from the Environmental Agency.
Many farms, particularly Dairy units would benefit greatly from their own water supply. The advantages to those particular Farms are directly proportionate to water usage. A large Unit may recover the cost of a well in as little as seven months; a small unit may be up to two and a half years.
An advisor from Auchincruive Agricultural College disclosed recently that in many years of 'desk-top studies', he has never encountered a case where a Well would not be financially beneficial to the farm being studied.
We are constantly being informed that the cattle prefer to drink well water, rather than mains. The greater consumption of the preferred water consistently improves the milk yield.
In a similar vein, we are told that the cost of running a borehole pump is greatly offset, particularly in temperate months. The consistently cool temperature of Well water greatly reduces the time that milk-chilling systems operate.
We take great care when drilling these wells to pick out desirable aquifers (water bearing rock formations) with sufficient yield wherever possible. The selection of these aquifers provides reliable water supplies, usually without the need for further filtration of treatment. The quality of the material we use and our skill in the installation makes for a sound, long-term investment. We have recently replaced two submersible pumps on different Diary Units, of differing sizes. The larger of the Units, have seen just under 14 years of service from their pump. The smaller unit has exceeded 14 years.
We have completed works on behalf of Scottish Water and their joint venture partners throughout Scotland, including some difficult access places in the Highlands and Islands. Some of our work in these places is the sole supply of drinking water, for individual sites and whole communities. Repeat custom with Scottish Water, perfectly illustrates their confidence in our expertise.
Geothermal heating is steadily evolving as an alternative heat source in both Commercial and Domestic consumers. By reducing carbon dioxide emissions by up to 50%, it is an ideal solution to the demand for green energy.
Extracting low grade heat energy from the ground, concentrating it to a suitable temperature for heating premises and water supplies is a sound investment, enhanced by freedom from Energy Supply Companies.
At IPR we believe, “prevention is better that the cure”.
An annual service which includes the monitoring of; switch and pressure vessel performance, pump motor performance, flow rate, water level and general water quality, will ensure your Well maintains maximum efficiency, reducing the risk of breakdown.
We endeavour to carry a reasonable stock of approved spares and respond to call outs promptly.
All components supplied by ourselves have a twelve month full replacement warrantee, which does not include labour.
Old or poorly constructed wells can be revitalised using various methods of mechanical and chemical cleaning. Unstable wells can be relined and re-established using graded filter pack. A simple sparge and airlift can return yield and prolong well life.
